Amy LeGate, CFP®
Amy LeGate brings a personal and transparent approach to Silverman LeGate, LLC, in addition to her extensive experience. Her work history includes almost 20 years in comprehensive planning practice, one year as a compliance officer and 7 + years as a client service principle. She is extremely dedicated to her clients and their families, striving to administer the most up to date financial advice to help accomplish their long term goals. Amy makes client education a priority to help ensure all are comfortable with and understand recommended strategies before moving forward. Not surprisingly, she was included two years in a row in D Magazine’s “List of Best Financial Planners in Dallas” (2012 and 2013). *
A Lubbock native, Amy attended Texas Tech University. She moved to the DFW area after meeting her husband, at which time she transferred to the University of North Texas to study Financial Services. After completing her Bachelor’s in Business Administration, she received her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. Amy is passionate about animals and actively participates in non-profit animal organizations, frequently fostering and rescuing dogs. She also donates time and resources to the Children’s Hospital at Medical City of Dallas.
Amy is a passionate volunteer in a variety of settings. She devotes a great deal of time to the children’s ministry at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, and volunteers at her son’s elementary school as a room mom. Additionally, she actively promotes the Children’s Hospital at Medical City of Dallas and donates resources as often as possible. An animal lover, Amy also advocates for dogs needing foster homes.
An avid sports fan, Amy primarily roots for the Denver Bronco’s, but also cheers for the Houston Texans because her husband grew up in Houston. Amy enjoys watching college sports too, rooting for both Texas Tech and the University of Nebraska, her husband’s home team.
Amy lives in McKinney with her husband Jason, and son, Jackson. She stays busy with Jackson’s activities, which include dog training classes, piano and baseball. When time permits, Amy also enjoys Sudoku puzzles, music, books and movies.
*Based on D Magazine asking every CFP® in Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Financial Planners Association to cast an online ballot. Outside-firm votes counted more than inside firm votes. Self-nominations were tossed out. A panel of esteemed local financial planners reviewed the final list.
